2010 NBA Hall of Famers: DJ, Malone, Pippen

Scottie Pippen and Karl Malone were just recently voted in with Celtics great Dennis Johnson to the NBA Hall of Fame. Johnson, a 3X NBA champion tragically passed away in 2007 at the age of 52. His time with Larry Legend in Boston ranked him as one of the best floor generals in the 1980's. "Anyone who ever played with or against Dennis Johnson knew that no one competed harder," said former Celtics GM Jan Volk. "The bigger the game, the better he played."

Just one year after Michael Jordan and John Stockton received the nod, the hall will now open it's doors for Pippen and Malone. Pippen is one of the major contributors along with MJ and Phil Jackson to Chicago's 6 NBA titles. The 7X All-Star has the second most points, assists and steals in Bulls history. His eight appearances to the leagues All-Defensive team is the cherry on top to solidify his name as the ultimate role player.

Now moving on to Malone...somebody had to finish all the dimes Stockton dished out over their longtime careers. When you speak duos...you mention Stockton and Malone in the same breath as Batman and Robin and Kenan and Kel (well maybe not Kenan and Kel, but you get the point).

The Mail Man certainly delivered for Utah through the years, slamming his way up to reach the #2 spot on the NBA's all-time scoring list. But every hero has his flaw, and for Stockton and Malone it was lack of rings to show for their dominant play (blocked by MJ, Pippen and Co). This is certainly a great day to announce these legends with a pair of Easter Sunday contests between the Celtics - Cavs and Lakers - Spurs.
